This is a client-facing opportunity at a growing marketing strategy and creative firm.  The Account Director (AD) is responsible for the overall health and growth of client, partner and vendor relationships. This is done in close coordination with Project Managers (PMs) by ensuring client objectives are communicated clearly and viable solutions are defined. A successful OBI AD is a hardworking, competitive and ambitious leader who loves the independence and creativity of a start-up environment with multiple accounts.

Primary Goal

Grow agency revenue by working to strategically execute on-going marketing related activities with clients (new and existing)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide high level and high touch client service and leading and mentoring other members of the team to do the same
  • Partner with PM to ensure client needs are met within OBI success parameters (on time, on budget, on strategy)
  • Document client business requirements, goals and objectives and clearly communicate expectations clearly to OBI team members
  • Develop, negotiate and reconcile client estimates and contracts such as statement of work (SOW), Master Service Agreements (MSA) and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA)
  • Setup and maintain client and specific account documentation with PM and finance, as defined by OBI management
  • Approve and review all deliverables prior to being viewed by clients, ensuring agreed requirements are met and OBI’s standard of quality is followed
  • Act as client contact and team liaison for prompt resolution of escalated project issues or questions needing resolution
  • Ensure high standard of service to clients by monitoring agreed criteria and leading quarterly reviews, both internally and externally
  • Use skills and experience to develop professional relationships and to push clients and coworkers to grow creatively and strategically
  • Responsible for advance planning and accurate projections/forecasting with clients in order to prepare OBI team for upcoming client work and expected associated revenue for company
  • Owner of client profitability, responsible for monitoring and reconciling project budgets and expenditures per each contract
  • Owner of client relationship, ensuring history and campaigns are documented in case study format and available for further use across the company
  • High level of knowledge of assigned client industry, products, strategic challenges and goals, providing support in the development of client objectives and OBI team understanding
  • Provide management input for improved operations, consistent with company goals
  • Identify problems, develop and implement effective solutions which result in both client and employee satisfaction
  • Willingly completes other duties and takes on special projects as assigned or as necessary.
  • Acts as a thought leader within the agency and with clients. Actively participating in sharing industry knowledge and trends 
  • Works collaboratively with clients, co-workers and OBI Management team
  • Desires to raise the bar when delivering work on behalf of OBI
  • Semi-frequent business travel to client and OBI engagements, as necessary

Qualifications & Experience 

  • 5 -7+ years experience successfully managing technology, marketing or media clients
  • Strong client relationship skills, with the ability to strategize, negotiate and resolve account issues
  • Organization skills, ensuring quality and OBI profitability goals are met while satisfying the needs of multiple clients
  • Responsible self-starter who can both lead a team and be a good team member
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written)
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office and Google apps for work) and comfort in learning other OBI-relevant tools / apps
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience or working knowledge of Adobe Suites preferred/helpful
  • Driver’s license, insurance equal or greater than statutory minimums, access to a reliable vehicle for transportation to the office and/or client meetings
