Position Purpose: Trade shows and virtual events are an important part of StoneX Group Inc.’s overall branding and marketing strategy. Reporting to the Vice President, Global Events, the Trade Show & Event Freelancer assumes full ownership of each trade show and event, including virtual events, that he/she plans and needs to ensure that every detail is executed completely, accurately, and on-time.

Expected duration of employment: January 1, 2021 - July 2, 2021


  • Trade Shows/Third-Party Events: Planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of trade shows (mostly virtual, some in-person)
  • Coordinate with trade show organizers (contracts, payment, deliverables, etc.)
  • Managing payment of fees for booth space, sponsorships and registrations for StoneX employees
  • Working with internal staff to determine goals and needs for each trade show they are participating
  • Learn and understand different virtual platforms and communicate with/train internal staff.
  • Coordinate graphic requests with internal graphic designer
  • Working with supplier-partners to order and ship exhibit properties, marketing collateral, show services, and install & dismantle services
  • Managing and executing trade show promotional plans intended to maximize company exposure and produce sales leads
  • Collaborate with the Lead Generation Team to manage the process of the leads generated from third-party events/trade shows
  • Researching industry trade shows for possible participation
  • Company-Hosted Virtual Events: Planning, coordinating and executing all aspects of virtual seminars, customer appreciation and outlook events
  • Coordinate and host kick-off calls
  • Serve as a liaison with brokers, outside speakers and event sponsors
  • Provide support in the planning and development of event and seminar agendas
  • Coordinate technical rehearsals
  • Build events in WebEx and On24
  • Review registration sites for accuracy
  • Send items to compliance for approval
  • Pull recordings of webinars and send to internal teams
  • Collaborates with accounting to ensure billing and payments are processed properly
  • Other: Always upholds corporate branding guidelines
  • Maintains prompt and regular attendance
  • Assist Vice President, Global Events, as needed

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree and work experience
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in marketing and/or event planning
  • Excellent project management skills Strong problem solving, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and with minimum direction
  • Ability to multi-task, manage a variety of projects and work effectively with a variety of individuals, vendors, businesses, etc.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products required
  • Preferred: Experience with virtual events/trade shows
  • Experience with ExhibitForce Experience with WebEx
  • Experience with On24
  • Experience with Excel
  • Located in the Des Moines Metro Area Knowledge of financial services
