About the Speaker:

Known as Iowa’s Storyteller, Darcy Maulsby is a marketing specialist, author, historian, and 5th generation farmer who helps businesses uncover their “wow” stories. Darcy earned her journalism/communications degree and master’s of business administration degree with a marketing emphasis from Iowa State University. She has run her marketing/communications company, Darcy Maulsby & Co., since 2002, serving clients from Syngenta to the City of Urbandale. Darcy has published eight non-fiction books, including the “Culinary History of Iowa,” and “Iowa Agriculture: A History of Farming, Family and Food.”

She has been featured the Iowa State Fair episode of “Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations” on the Cooking Channel. Darcy also serves on the Humanities Iowa Speakers Bureau. In December 2025, Iowa State University honored Darcy with the “Women Impacting Agriculture” award.
