Ending the War:  How Marketers Can Build Stronger Relationships with their Sales Teams

Let’s face it: sales and marketing are often at war with each other. There’s a lot of bad selling going on in the world today. And there’s a major misalignment in the relationship between sales and marketing professionals. Historically, many sellers have been trained to use artificial tactics in pursuit of the sale. Those tactics lead sales people to suck at selling. Developing true relationships with current and potential customers involves a partnership between the sales and marketing arms of a business. When those partnerships are created and a strong relationship is built, both marketers and salespeople will benefit. Join AMA Iowa as Dan Smaida, CEO of Real Relationship Selling, Inc., discusses how to recognize the traps that come with sales and marketing misalignment and some fundamental principles and strategies to overcome them. This presentation is built for both the sales and marketing teams of an organization to attend together so they can learn these concepts and craft a strategy that will build their relationship. Attendees will walk away from the presentation learning how to:

  • Align marketing with sales
  • Look at sales from the marketing chair
  • Persuade sales people and executives

About the Speaker:

Dan Smaida has spent 20 years consulting with and training salespeople on the art of the relationship sale.  He’s built custom, proprietary sales training for some of the world’s best-known companies in a variety of industries including financial services, medical devices, manufacturing, and technology.

Dan delivers keynote speeches, workshops, and training to thousands of people each year both face-to-face and virtually, all focused on a single topic:  Using the principles of real relationships to suck less at selling. When he’s not on the road, Dan enjoys his family, pets, and the extremely high quality of life to be found on the West Coast…of Wisconsin
