NIL Deal of the Year: Purchase Moore Hamann Bacon

In September 2023, the Iowa Pork Producers Association struck marketing gold thanks to a fortuitous string of last names on the Iowa State University football team's roster. One picture of the backs of four football players' jerseys, standing behind a large ham and huge pile of bacon, turned into a viral social media campaign and earned media initiative worth millions of dollars.

Hear from Kevin Hall, communications director of the Iowa Pork Producers Association, on how they partnered with four Iowa State Cyclones to encourage people across the nation to Purchase Moore Hamann Bacon.

Audiences will takeaway:

  1. Seize the day. When you see a potentially huge opportunity, jump on it quickly.
  2. There is a world of opportunity for marketers in the NIL space, and it doesn't have to be with star athletes. Even a limited budget can go very far.
  3. Cheesy, corny, and punny is sometimes the way to go.
